Esther Flückiger and Lukas Ligeti bring to life a collaboration born out of the meeting of focal points and strident ones in different stylistic domains, in search of new rules and new freedoms in composed and comprovvised music.
With different backgrounds and different sensibilities, a reader, a musician and an actor humbly approach Dante. The first takes care of the introduction to singing, facilitating its understanding for a more conscious listening and rich in notes.
Marcela Pavia e Esther Flückiger are related by a personal and musical friendship since 20 years in which they have developed a shared research in particular musical territories. In 2009 they launched the project “Flair” Switzerland-Argentina and collaborated together for CD publications, various broadcasts and numerous concerts.
They met in South Africa and recorded an album after just two rehearsals and were also immediately heard on stage. The father of Nonku was Ray Phiri, famous as the guitarist on the album Graceland by Paul Simon.
A transcultural music project by Esther Flückiger, Mabeleng Moholo and Volley Nchabeleng, in which Flückiger’s career from classical to contemporary music, jazz and ethno music enriches the entire listening experience.
The duet debuted together at the Puccini Hall of the Milan Conservatory of Music in 2012 with a free improvisation and comprovisation project.
